IUPUI's Hunter pleased with what he has

Jags want to become the Over-the-Hill gang

IUPUI basketball coach Ron Hunter is confident the 15 players on this season's roster will prove themselves good enough to make Jaguars fans forget the one who isn't.

With Summit League Player of the Year George Hill forgoing his senior season to become a first-round draft pick of the NBA's San Antonio Spurs, Hunter faces a daunting task matching last season's program-best 26-7 record, including 15-0 at home.

But at media day Thursday at Conseco Fieldhouse, where the Jaguars will play two games this season, Hunter was adamant his Jaguars can replace Hill's 21.5 points and 6.8 rebounds a game.

"We've said from the first day of practice, we're going to play with a chip on our shoulders," Hunter said. "We won games before George got here; we're going to win games after he's gone."
