Old Titan
As a registered Republican and lifelong Tulsan, I must admit being appalled by the current ad running for Senator Jim Inhofe it which he insinuates that his Democratic opponent, Andrew Rice, is gay. Using grainy photographs from Rice's youth and a clip of two groom figurines on a wedding cake, Inhofe - never one to shy away from mud-slinging - has reached a new low. This is the part of election year that I hate - hard to enthusiastically support any candidate that would "approve this message". Isn't a 22-year-long record of service as a United States senator enough to run on? Does he truly have nothing better on which to stand for 60 seconds? Gold*
I've never understood why he does stuff like that. Rice is an interesting candidate; I think he has a snowball's chance, but he was an interesting choice to run against Inhofe. Somewhat "outside the box." I haven't seen the ad, OT, but I agree with you on it's apparent inappropriateness. I love Jim Inhofe's poltical position on many issues (I'll probably be the target of many verbal grenades from ORUBB for saying that), but I think he's got a history of ruthless campaigning. At this point in his career his record stands on it's own merits - he fearlessly stands for conservative principles and backs down to no one - he doesn't need to be doing attack ads like that. But it may just be deeply ingrained into his psyche . . .

Old Titan
It is truly sad to observe the lion in winter, resorting to devious tactics in pursuit of the easy kill, rather than leading the pride from a position of dignity and strength. Wow! That's a pretty impressive metaphor there, OT! Nice job! I agree, BTW. On the other hand, I think many would admit that he's just falling back on old tactics that have worked well for him over the years.
