tmh8286
Oakland schedule. Like us, they're on the road most of November and December. Only three games played in Rochester; a couple more played at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
TrueBlue82
Excellent schedule for Oakland - and they may have the team this year to pull some upsets. If they enter January at .500, watch out for the Grizzlies!
Bogus Smith
I'm surprised that the Las Vegas Invitational couldn't get some stronger teams to their Tournament. That tournament should be Oakland's for the taking. It's also nice to see that the state schools are willing to play Oakland. It looks like that they are home games for Oakland since the opponent is in upper case letters, but will be on a "neutral" court. Oakland will certainly be traveling around a lot in November: Oregon > Syracuse > Iowa > K-State. At least Iowa and K-State are in the same time zone. Could it be that they are just playing these games in a larger venue to generate more revenue but that this too could be considered their home court? Mike Minyard
Those are home games to help increase their home attendance average.
tmh8286
One of the things I noticed while looking up other Summit League schedules - we're not the only team that is short of home games in the OOC. Centenary plays their first home game against Baylor, of all things, on November 18, then doesn't play at home again until January 8. Most other teams that have posted their schedules are short on home games as well.
TrueBlue82
All mid-majors (especially those on the "low" end like most Summit schools) are having a challenge scheduling home games. The majors have the money - and as a result, they can pay for the privilege of staying at home (and generally, winning at home). It's going to become increasingly difficult for these schools (ORU included) to meet the goals of building a reputable home schedule AND capturing the revenues to keep the athletic program operating.
