tmh8286
Last night I tried to keep up with two games going on at the same time - Valpo/IPFW and Tulsa/UAB. As far as the teams I was interested in, the games couldn't have been more different, apart from the fact that both of their opponents had alphabet soup names. Valpo pounced on IPFW early and never looked back. They are playing well at this point - amazingly well. They shot 60% for the game - and I'm talking about three pointers! 62% overall. They played 12 players, had 18 assists, and won the game 88-72. Tulsa, on the other hand, lost ugly, 84-54. They led for a while into the first half, but once UAB turned up the defense, game over. TU had 39 turnovers to UAB's 8. Points off turnover: UAB - 52; TU - 2. Last night was a prime example of one team that's putting it all together, and another that is struggling to find itself.
