Mike Minyard Posted June 17, 2008 Share Posted June 17, 2008 Longtime professor at ORU dies at 80 By Staff Reports 6/17/2008 Edward Norman "Dr. Ed" Nelson, a longtime Oral Roberts University professor, died June 8. He was 80. A celebration of life is set for 1 p.m. June 28 at the Kennedy Chapel at ORU. Nelson was born Aug. 8, 1927, to Inga (Johnson) and Norman Nelson in Seattle. His father was a minister, and he spent his childhood in Lutheran parsonages in Washington, North Dakota, Minnesota and Saskatchewan, Canada.
