Bogus Smith Posted June 4, 2008 Share Posted June 4, 2008 As the Super Regionals get underway, most of the national polls are not updating their rankings until the end of the CWS; however, a couple have, including Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball. The National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) moved ORU up from #25 to #24 in its rankings this week after a 2-2 weekend, which shows some respect for the Golden Eagles' program. I would not expect us to move up anymore in this poll, but we may get some recognition in the final Coaches' poll when they come out later this month. Good job, Eagles! Bogus Smith Posted July 1, 2008 Author Share Posted July 1, 2008 After Fresno State's surprise win of the CWS, the final polls have been released. ORU stayed at #24 in the NCBWA poll, #27 in the Rivals.com poll and #33 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll. The Golden Eagles finished #34 in Boyd's World Pseudo-RPI calculations. All-in-all a great showing for the Golden Eagles in the 2008 season. Congratulations on a super season guys!! We'll have our work cut out for us to repeat the performance next season, but Fresno State's performance has certainly provided all mid-majors with a rally cry.
