Old Titan
Try to squeeze this boxscore into just one paragraph, Tulsa World! Wait, who am I kidding: we'll probably just get a linescore, like they do for high school games in March...
TrueBlue82
Two pitchers warming up in bullpen..... Van Kerk catches ball and throws out runner at home plate. Shockers done for the inning. HUGE play - the Shockers have the bases loaded and one out - and score NOTHING! The energy in the crowd is dashed immediately! Any hope that the Shockers had for a come-back is waning quickly! The Shocker radio crew is VERY complimentary of ORU, stating that the "Eagles came to play" and none of ORU's hits were "cheap". I have not yet heard reference to the standard "mid-week pitching" excuse, which I fully expected. Our recent record against the Shockers has had an impact - they definitely have respect for ORU in Wichita.
ORUTerry
ORU doesn't score in the top of the 6th.... leaves a runner (walk). Score is still 11 to 0.
Old Titan
Until the Shockers spanked us pretty good in the NCAA loser's bracket game last year in Wichita, we had had their number for quite a few games. Their fans have come to realize that under Rob Walton, ORU is - year in and year out - as good a team as anyone they will see all year. ORUTerry
Three up - three down.... Minnesale strikes out the last player after two pop flies. Top of the 7th: ORU still leads 11 to 0.
ORUTerry
Hard liner that is caught, a pop fly and a strike out.... ORU goes down 1-2-3. Still lead 11 to 0.

Wait, who am I kidding: we'll probably just get a linescore, like they do for high school games in March... We all need to overload the TW's comment section tonight and tomorrow on this ORU article! ORUTerry
Minnesale walks WSU player..... who then steals second. Genao did not hold him on. Still two outs.
ORUTerry
Shockers go down with a pop up..... on to the top of the 8th.
Old Titan
As you might expect, Shocker fans on their message board are doing a lot of hand-wringing. One fan surmised that the team may be distracted of late by the tawdry story a few weeks back involving a Wichita woman filing a restraining order against married WSU head Coach Gene Stephenson for stalking her. It does make you wonder: WSU's W-L record before that story broke was 31-8. Since then, and if they lose tonight, it is 7-8...
