Steve Holm ...

If you have been following Steve Holm's season thus far as a back-up Catcher for the San Francisco Giants, he has done pretty good for himself!  He's appeared in 10 games, with 8 hits (2 doubles) and a .333 Batting Average.  Coming off the bench as a relief catcher, he has showed some signs of consistency, by getting hits in most of the games he's been in.  Last night he was 2 for 2, with a walk in a win over Colorado.

Good Show, Steve!!!

We watched Steve play a couple of Saturdays ago against the Cardinals... he played well and got a nice hit. And the Giants won too.

Steve will be here in Philly with the Giants this weekend...perhaps TheEagleman will get down there Sunday afternoon to catch the rubber game of the series....the Giants are not very good this season....Phils should handle them at least 2 of 3....

Steve played here in Phila. today in a 6-5 loss to the Phillies...he got one single in 4 at bats and did a good job behind the plate...he is definitely a major league catcher from what i saw on TV...average is now a .321....nice job, steve!....... :-)

Holm settles for big hit

He rallies from stomach distress to cap Giants' comeback

(excerpt)

"Holmy came off his deathbed and got a huge hit today," said Bochy, whose prose was as dramatic as Holm's pinch-hit double in the ninth inning. The Giants were down to their last out against closer Brian Fuentes when Holm drove a first-pitch fastball into the gap in left-center.
