theeagleman5
Another scoreless inning and a third for Chappy tonight vs. the Portland Sea Dogs....he also stands to get the win if Reading can hold on to the current 4-3 lead in the 8th inning.....also, good news that Chance was not included in the big trade with Cleveland today for Cliff Lee..... Actually, as a diehard Indians fan (a painful profession), I was disappointed to see Chance not included in the trade with the Phils. I think he could've made a quicker advancement to the majors with the Tribe, as they have significant needs in both the rotation and bullpen. theeagleman5
Chance has continued to be the best arm in the bullpen for Reading and was only scored on once in six outings over the past two weeks for the AA Phillies....his ERA at AA level is 2.74 and combined with his A ball performance...this year he is 9-2 with an ERA of 2.05....outstanding season for Chappy....AAA should be a lock next season and the sky is the limit for the 25 yr old..... theeagleman5
Jack of all trades, Chance Chapman is the starting pitcher in a HUGE game with playoff implications for Reading tonight...so far, so good....Chappy has thrown 5 scoreless innings giving up just 2 hits...no walks and 3 Ks....sensational!...oh yeah, the Phils lead by 3-0 as we head to the 6th..... theeagleman5
The Reading Phillies are in the playoffs after a win today vs. Connecticut and will open against Akron later this week.....hopefully, Chance will get some action...his victory Thursday night in New Briton was huge....looks like he will certainly be in AAA next season.... theeagleman5
A poor ending to the regular season for Chance today as he got lit up for 3 runs in one inning of work in a meaningless game at Connecticut....didn't help his ERA much as it balllooned up to 2.73 at Reading....however, the playoffs start Wednesday at Akron and hopefully Chappy will be a big part of that.... theeagleman5
Chance got into the playoff opener last night in relief and was nicked for one hit and one run in 1.2 innings of work...Reading lost 9-4 and also lost tonight 6-4 to Akron...so the R-Phils are one game away from elimination as they return home for game 3 tomorrow night in the best of 5 series.....
