ORUTerry
ORU Notebook (excerpt) By MATT DOYLE World Sports Writer 3/23/2008 Practicing for Parker: Candace Parker always draws a lot of attention from Tennessee opponents. Oral Roberts is no different. Golden Eagles coach Jerry Finkbeiner did not divulge what his defensive strategy would be against the consensus All-American and possible WNBA top pick. "It's a nightmare matchup that I don't think you can pad with a gimmick," Finkbeiner said. ORU's tallest starter is 6-foot-3 junior Jenny Hardin. But Tennessee has 6-4 center Nicky Anosike to go along with the multi-talented 6-4 Parker. ORU uses three male practice players throughout the season. This week, they played the role of Parker in practice. How that translates over to the game, though, remains to be seen. "It is hard to duplicate her in practice," the Finkbeiner said. "A couple of the guys try to duplicate some of the defensive and offensive things. But we won't fully understand until (Sunday)." ..........
