The run:  The game boiled down to the final 11 minutes of the first half when Pitt outscored the Golden Eagles 37-11 to build a 47-24 halftime lead.

It started with an 18-0 run and grew to 24-2. ORU went from leading 13-10 to trailing 34-15, and it all happened very quickly.

The Golden Eagles couldn't get any rebounds and the Panthers started beating them back on defense.

"Our transition defense was pitiful, it was just bad," senior guard Moses Ehambe said. "I think we lost track, some of our guys didn't get to their man. We were scrambling and they hit open shots."

Pitt junior guard Levance Fields hit two 3-pointers and senior guard Keith Benjamin hit two more.

Panther forward Gilbert Brown wheeled around his man on the dribble and went all the way to the hoop for a slam. Brown scored 12 points off the bench, getting three more dunks.

The Panthers went through one stretch hitting 10-of-12 from the field while ORU was missing nine straight over roughly the same span.

"We just kept getting great shots. The more we made them, the more you could see (the Eagles) deflating," Fields said.

Said Ehambe: "We just lost our toughness and our focus. When we were (controlling the game in the first nine minutes), we were taking our time, setting our offense, getting good shots, making good decisions, running back in transition. All of sudden, the tables turned." ............
