ORU wins by nine, 74 to 65.

ORU outrebounds CSU 43 to 32; the Golden Eagles shoot 49% for the game - 56% in the second half. CSU shoots 37%. ORU has 12 turnovers to only six for CSU.

Caleb Green scores 25 on 10 of 12 shooting and gathers 6 rebounds. Tutt scores 15 points and Bluitt scores 10 points along with 7 assists. Yemi scores five points and pulls down nine boards. Eric Fowlkes scores nine points in front of his extended family. Mark Neely said there were about 150 people in attendance at the game; a good part of them were Eric's family down from Wisconsin.

Coach Sutton after the game said:

Chicago State was obviously slowing the game down to 10 seconds and then playing one-on-one with Parran & others. He said that Parran is a good player. It was important to get the lead and get them out of their slow down game. This is a hard place to win with its unique situation.

Said that Tutt shot well but is still not shooting with confidence at the line. CSU played a box and one - and triangle & one on Tutt to deny him open looks. Sutton was pleased with the play off the bench: Yemi had nine rebounds and played hard. Was proud of Eric Fowlkes and glad he did well in front of his family. He was ready to play when he was called on.

Southern Utah is next - also a tough place to play. We have played well there the last two years. Evans is a good coach. It wouldl be nice to get off to a 2-0 conference start - on the road.

I say NO.

Veally played in Minn, but whose minutes would you have wanted him to take minutes from tonight?

It may have been a case of Yemi rebounding the ball so well that the coaches just left him in....

Easy now, Mom - it's a valid question. Marchello looked like he was ready to break out after the TU game, but his minutes have dwindled ever since. As for "whose minutes should he take", that would depend on how we matched up with the other five on the floor at any given time. It's hard to understand why suddenly Yemi, Eric AND Moses have passed him by to the point where he gets NO playing time, especially since we're still thin with Andrew being hurt. I wonder if is he's still in the doghouse from that one game suspension...
