Oral Roberts, the university, prevented one. IPFW’s improbable quest for its own kind of miracle came to rest in the second round of the Summit League tournament on Monday, but not before it sent a scared shiver through the No. 1-seeded Golden Eagles. Yet in the end – and the end came swiftly and without quarter – Oral Roberts withstood the threat and ended the Mastodons’ season at 13-18 with a deceptive 58-42 victory at the John Q.
