ORUTerry
ORU falls to 4-2 in Summit By BRANDON DIXON World Correspondent 1/20/2008 (excerpt) Any doubt about which women's basketball team holds the top spot in the Summit League was erased Saturday. That honor, for now, goes to Western Illinois. The Westerwinds (8-9, 6-0 Summit League) took advantage of poor shooting by the Golden Eagles (10-7, 4-2 Summit League) on their way to a 60-46 win at the Mabee Center. ORU struggled to get points in the paint against Western Illinois' physical interior defense, which held ORU to 28 percent shooting from the field. Eagles' head coach Jerry Finkbeiner credits a lack of energy as another reason for the team's performance.
