ORU-sisko Posted January 10, 2008 Share Posted January 10, 2008 ELMHURST, Ill. - Oral Roberts sophomore Jerry Sullivan was named Preseason Third Team All-America by Ping!Baseball the publication announced on Wednesday. Sullivan earns the first preseason honor for the Golden Eagles after establishing himself as a freshman last season. The Budd Lake, N.J. native went 5-0 and ranked second on the team with a 2.04 ERA. Sullivan fanned 45 batters in 53.0 innings of work including a complete-game shutout at then-No. 10 Wichita State. The right-handed hurler was named College Baseballb s Freshman of the Week by rivals.com after the gem against Wichita State on April 17. He also earned All-America honors by Collegiate Baseball and Ping!Baseball. This is the second year that PingBaseball.com has named a preseason All-American team.
