The score doesnt show how much of a blowout it was, ORU led by more than 20 at half.... Mizzou St turned it on late, but a little too late..... loved the dollar hot dog promotion at half

Missouri State just recently had 2 of their post players quit the team... the walk on who is a volleyball player at the school was playing her first game and got the privelage of guarding Hardin... haha, lets just say there was a CLEAR advantage in the post. The guard play was great as well. Whit had an absolutely fantastic game. She looks better and better each game.

This team has it all. Inside, outside.  Height and speed.  I don't think the Summit league can match them.  Its going to be a great season for the Lady Eagles.

After the game we were talking about the fact that MSU got back into it when ORU started playing "the slow-down game", which is really how it appeared.  With a huge lead ORU seemed to be trying to run down the clock with every possession.  But then, ORU scored 49 in the first half, and 47 in the second half!  While they may have let the air out of the ball a little towards the end, it was the fact that MSU got hot late as much as anything that got them back in the game.  Their #3, Melissa Busby just couldn't miss down the stretch. She ended up the night as their top scorer.

Here's pretty much how the Eagles played the second half:  Camrargo with the ball near center court, the other player at the four corners.  Late into the shot clock Camargo begins her drive.  It took the combined effort of the five Bear players to prevent Camargo from getting to the basket.  If all five didn't collapse on her, she'd take it in for a layup.  But as she was driving, Watman and Wehmeyer would move in, to about the fifteen foot area, Camargo would kick it out to one of them, and they'd shoot an uncontested jumper - and they were absolutely deadly.  It was a brilliant strategy that gave ORU high percentage shots even while using up the clock.

That was a sweet win for the women last night.  It was a fun evening with a group of of our friends around us.  I'm looking forward to some more games like that one coming up.
