ORUTerry
Arkansas rallies to beat ORU in men's basketball By Associated Press 12/1/2007 6:36 PM (excerpt) FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Coming off an important win against Missouri, Arkansas guard Gary Ervin knew Saturday's game against Oral Roberts could be trouble for the Razorbacks. And for much of the first half Ervin was right, as the Golden Eagles led by much as 10 points. But thanks to the aggressive play of forward Darian Townes in the second half and a 16-point performance from Ervin overall, Arkansas overcame a slow start with an important 16-2 run in the second half and beat Oral Roberts 62-51. "Coach (John) Pelphrey let us know that we were going to get their biggest punch," Ervin said. "We came out after halftime and we kind of stepped up on defense and got easy baskets." In all, three Arkansas players -- Ervin, Darian Townes and Patrick Beverley -- scored double digits for the Razorbacks, who have now won four straight games.
