can be used to build character and unify a team. ORU's won four and lost three; would they like to be 7-0, of course but would being undefeated right now translate into an NCAA birth next March? No, but winning the Mid Con regular season title and securing the #1 seed in the conference tournament would be a better start toward getting there.

Lots to be excited about ... Caleb Green will come back with a string of outstanding games on his way to all-American potential status. Ken Tutt will shoot the ball better again sometime soon. Larry Owens will continue to be long, athletic and exciting player that he is. Michalec will be the big 6'10" man in the middle that not many Mid Con teams have, and Vealy will develop his game into a big time contributor for the future of Golden Eagle basketball. I'll continue to be overly critical of Bluitt and think about how great this team would be with a guy like Earl McClellen or Rod Thompson playing the one, and hopefully the coaching staff will start to play Fowlkes and Rious more minutes.

You're right, Rob, being 4-3 right now has nothing to do with SIMPLY BEING IN the NCAA tournament. But if we can manage to win the Mid-Con, these are the games that we have to win to improve our seed in the dance. being a 15 or even a 14 seed will be a tough assignment. If we're 6-1 or 7-0 right now, have a good road trip over the next 7, and then win the Mid-Con, maybe we get a 13. As it is right now, we'd be lucky to get a 15.

Obviously, we have the cart before the horse talking about the tournament-I believe several of us did it all last year and we all know where we ended up...at Maryland!
