TULSA ? Oral Roberts University announced Tuesday the hiring of Allyson Hills to the position of assistant director of media relations.

A native of Sedan, Kan., Hills will serve as the primary contact for volleyball, women?s basketball and men?s and women?s outdoor track and field.

?We are very pleased to have Allyson join our staff," Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations Cris Belvin said. "She has gained a great deal of experience in a short period of time and will bring a strong sense of energy and enthusiasm to our media relations unit."

Hills joins the Golden Eagle staff after spending the past two years at Wichita State as a graduate assistant under Larry Rankin where she handled the media relations for men?s and women?s cross country and track and field. She also played roles in women?s basketball, volleyball and softball. While with softball, Hills received a publication honor from the College Sports Information Directors of America for her work on the 2007 Shocker softball media guide.

While at Wichita State, she also served as the media coordinator for the 2006 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship as well as the 2006 and 2007 Kansas State High School Track and Field meet, the largest high school track meet in the nation. She also completed her master?s degree in sports administration at Wichita State.

Prior to her stint at Wichita State, Hills earned her bachelor?s degree in public relations with a minor in leadership studies from Kansas State University in 2005. While at K-State, Hills entered the athletic media relations field by working in the Wildcat sports information office under Gary Bowman, assisting with football and volleyball.

Hills joins Cliff Martin as full-time assistants in the ORU Media Relations Office. Martin serves as the media contact for men?s and women?s soccer, tennis and baseball.
