ORUJason Posted June 1, 2007 Share Posted June 1, 2007 Since Guilmet will be out of the game, that works in our favor, but chances are he would have been done anyway, having pitched around 120 pitches. Our only disadvantage is that they have 9 outs to work with and we will only have 6 outs, since it will be the bottom of the 7th inning. However, since Arizona is the higher seeded, higher ranked, power conference team, it could frustrate them a little bit that they haven't pulled away from us at this point. Old Titan Posted June 1, 2007 Share Posted June 1, 2007 I'm not sure how many pitches Chapman threw, but this may mean he would be available on Monday night if needed, maybe even in relief on Sunday night - guy's got a rubber arm... Crichton went several innings last year in similar relief situation vs. OSU in the championship game - he can go three innings, or even more, if he's getting people out. I feel great about our position right now - reminds me of grinding out the 4-3, 11-inning win against Arkansas in last year's first-round game. Our upper-class experience may weigh heavily in the end. One thing you can count on with Rob and this team - they will bear down every single inning...
