ORUTerry Posted May 9, 2007 Share Posted May 9, 2007 Golden Eagles topple Missouri State by Staff Reports 5/9/2007 SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Oral Roberts rallied from a 6-2 deficit with a seven-run ninth inning as ORU defeated Missouri State, 9-6, in nonconference action, Tuesday night at Hammons Field. Stephen Pearson hit a pitch-hit grand slam with two outs in the ninth to tie the game at 6-6. Kelly Minissale scored Brendan Duffy with a single up the middle to give ORU (29-15) the lead for good. Jake Kahaulelio added some cushion for ORU with a two-run home run to left field. Erik Crichton closed out the game to earn his fifth save of the year. Carlos Luna worked the seventh and eighth to improve to 2-0. Pat Warfle put ORU on the board in the second inning with a run-scoring double to right field, scoring Brian Van Kirk. ORU scored another run in the third inning to extend its lead to 2-0. Minissale hit his team-leading fourth triple of the year to right center to score Carter McQuigg. Starter Marcus Tackett cruised through the first three innings.
