Valparaiso (15-23, 4-4 Mid-Con) had never won at ORU's J.L. Johnson Stadium and held a 3-42 record against the Golden Eagles before Sunday. ORU (24-15, 7-1) lost a home conference game for the first time since May 19, 2002, when the Golden Eagles fell to Oakland. The loss also snapped a nine-game Eagle winning streak.
