Bogus Smith
"LOUISVILLE SLUGGER'S" NATIONAL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK 1B Ryan Heath, Oakland: Heath had one of those days that come along once in a century. During a doubleheader against Western Illinois, he hit 4 home runs, including 3 grand slams, and posted 14 RBIs. In the first game, a 20-2 Oakland win, he was 3-for-3 with two grand slams, a double and a career-high 9 RBIs along with 3 runs scored. In the nightcap, he went 2-for-4 with a grand slam, a solo home run, 5 RBIs and 2 runs scored in a 22-8 loss to Western Illinois. Heath had not hit a home run this season prior to the doubleheader and had never hit a grand slam before. I sure hope that some of our players get to tee off on the WIU pitchers like this when it comes to our time!
