Geoff Haxton
3pm start central. Hazy conditions. Temps in lower 70's, muggy, very little wind. ORU feeling a bit down but not out. Hoping for an Easter Eve win to make travel a bit easier tomorrow. Any questions......you know where to go. Ash on hill. Hax
ORUTerry
Last night was brutal after having three run leads - twice. Gotta cut down on the errors and play smart. Hope the guys can bounce back this afternoon.

Bogus Smith
Good guys win one from the #23-ranked and #3-RPI Long Beach State Dirtbags by a score of 3-2. Nice to win at least one...we would have won two games if we didn't commit five errors on Friday, but that's history now. We are playing some good baseball right now. I hope we're ready to play in Lawrence on Tuesday. Good job, guys!!
tmh8286
And congratulations to Chris Ashman for going the distance. Things got a little shaky in the seventh, but Chris came out and finished strong in the last two innings.
TrueBlue82
Big win for this team - if they had gone out west and been shutout, it would've been a real morale crasher. They've proven that they can play with ANYONE, which will be the boost they need come tourney time. I have the feeling that the NCAA is going to set up a tough road in the regionals for this team (sent to Austin???) to make it very difficult for this team to reach the super-regionals...but anything can happen! Bogus Smith
On the flip side of that argument JB, there may be some on the committee that really like Rob Walton and want to see him succeed (he is one of the baseball coaches that has a vote in the weekly USA Today poll) and may put the team as a #3 seed with a "weak sister" #1 to give ORU a chance to get to a Super Regional. I do agree that our history has been to get a tough regional, but it's possible that there is some love for ORU on the baseball front across America after making 9(?) straight regionals. Wishful thinking?? Probably, but even Rob is going to have to vote his team at least #25 in a future poll if we win at Kansas, WSU and OSU this month and don't stub our toe in conference play.
