ORUTerry
Green Earns Third AP All-America Honor TULSA- Oral Roberts University men's basketball standout Caleb Green (Tulsa, Okla.) was named to the Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America Team for the third consecutive season, the AP announced on Monday. Green, who concluded his ORU career earlier this month in the NCAA Tournament, becomes the fourth player in ORU history to receive at least three All-America honors. Mark Acres (1982-85) was named to the AP honorable mention team four consecutive seasons, while Richard Fuqua (1971-73) and Anthony Roberts (1975-77) each earned three awards. A three-time Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Year, Green led the Golden Eagles to their third straight Mid-Con regular-season title and second straight tournament crown and subsequent NCAA appearance this season. The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 20.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game as ORU posted a 23-11 overall record. Green completed his ORU career earlier this month by scoring 13 points and grabbing eight rebounds in the Golden Eagles' 70-54 loss to Washington State in the NCAA Tournament first round. Green ended his stay at Oral Roberts as the Mid-Con's career leader in both points (2,503) and rebounds (1,189). He is just the 18th player in NCAA history to reach the 2,500-point, 1,000-rebound marks. 2006-07 AP All-America Basketball Team By The Associated Press AP All-America Team FIRST TEAM Kevin Durant Texas FR Alando Tucker Wisconsin SR Acie Law IV Texas A&M SR Arron Afflalo UCLA SR Greg Oden Ohio State FR SECOND TEAM Nick Fazekas Nevada SR Tyler Hansbrough North Carolina SO Chris Lofton Tennessee JR Jared Dudley Boston College SR Joakim Noah Florida JR THIRD TEAM Jeff Green Georgetown JR Al Horford Florida JR Aaron Brooks Oregon SR Al Thornton Florida State SR Aaron Gray Pittsburgh SR HONORABLE MENTION: Morris Almond, Rice; D.J.
