theeagleman5 Posted November 24 Posted November 24 The 6-2 Hillcats coming back to Mabee Center on Monday night in what should be an interesting match up.....2-4 ORU not playing much Defense the past 3 halves so perhaps Rogers St. can make a game of it? TheEagleman thinks they just might and I set the line at ORU -14.5....interested in thoughts by some of you out there and will have my prediction in the next 24 hours....GO BLUE!!! GO HCRS!!!
Bogus Smith Posted November 24 Posted November 24 This is an exhibition game for RSU, but their only game against a D-1 opponent this year. Some of the guys are wanting to make an impression of why they were looked over by ORU, for sure. A common opponent was against Haskell, where they defeated the Indians, 85-56 (we defeated Haskell 87-52). Unfortunately, this game isn't a "gimme game", but it should be a good game for getting people some better reps and get the rotation in place. Missouri State is our next game the following Sunday, so we will have a week to work on things. We shouldn't expect to (but hope to) see the end of the bench in this game. 1
theeagleman5 Posted November 24 Author Posted November 24 So just what are you saying, Bogus? ORU could lose???
TrueBlue82 Posted November 24 Posted November 24 In the past 25 seasons, ORU is 40-2 against non-D1 opponents, all at home. The most recent loss was in 2017, Paul Mills' first season, when the Golden Eagles fell to Southern Nazarene 68-60 as they began the season with a 1-9 record. The previous loss was in 2001, Scott Sutton's third season, when Cameron came into Mabee Center for the season opener and shocked ORU 75-71. ORU is 5-0 lifetime against Rogers State and all games have been won by a double-digit margin. But, the Hillcats have usually been competitive, with three of the five losses by 13 points or less. I fully expect an ORU win tomorrow (and the beginning of a four-game winning streak), but anything can happen, especially with a team that hasn't yet found its footing.
theeagleman5 Posted November 25 Author Posted November 25 Yeah TheEagleman thinks he likes RSU and the points.... ORU 82 Rogers State 74.... 1

theeagleman5 Posted November 25 Author Posted November 25 Maybe a few fans will hang around to watch after the ORU Ladies play tomorrow night.... 1 2
Idig32 Posted November 25 Posted November 25 ORU just has way better athletes too to bottom than RSU. I’m sure Rogers State has some guys that can play and are very athletic, but their roster as a whole just isn’t deep enough to win. I expect Alijiki to have a big game and to lead the team to a double digit win.
Old Titan Posted November 25 Posted November 25 I have a lot of respect for Rogers State head coach Justin Barkley. He helped ORU out of a real bind by agreeing to this game on late notice after Illinois-Chicago bailed on their contracted commitment to visit the Mabee Center this season. 5
Keenan Henderson Posted November 25 Posted November 25 It may sound like a broken record, but the key is still to improve game by game until March. It does not matter who ORU faces: Ok State, Rodgers State or the guys at the YMCA, just improve little by little. The defense would be a good place to start. 1
theeagleman5 Posted November 25 Author Posted November 25 O/U actual fans in the stands tonight on a holiday week can't possibly exceed 1800.......unless its a dollar dog night or something.....free beer???

Women's pre-game and dinner before the men's game will get us a good crowd. No students, so I would expect 2,000 - 3,000 for a night where most people are already on hiatus. 1
eagle88 Posted November 26 Posted November 26 Stats don’t lie. We have only beat them in 1 category 1
Keenan Henderson Posted November 26 Posted November 26 Momma said there would be days like this. Congratulations to Rodgers State, just outplayed the Eagles.
Sterns78 Posted November 26 Posted November 26 Had a foul to give in the last 10 seconds to prevent their last bucket. #hindsight20/20
