Or was he a wait-and-see player? Just wondering. Right now, we aren't super-excited about every recruit, just cautiously optimistic. There's always a chance that one of these guys will step up and become the key to victories. (Hoping and praying here!) Very helpful perspective as I know I am not always the most optimistic. Excited for all our players, but I’m especially excited/intrigued by some of the numbers Darius Robinson put up offensively - we shall see! There's always a chance that one of these guys will step up and become the key to victories. (Hoping and praying here!) He was streaky his freshman year, and the three-guard offense at the time (with Sam Kearns and Deandre Burns) did not take full advantage of his creative instincts. Not seeing the ball as much, he tended to force shots when he had the chance. But it was obvious he could shoot. It wasn't until his sophomore year, when they put the ball in his hands 99% of the time and ran the pick-and-pop out top with Obanor, that he really blossomed. 1
titansforever
(A side note: "Midcourt Max" t-shirts are 50% off in the campus bookstore.) So are the plain "Abmas" / "3" shirts. Collector's items, for sure. Get 'em now for a future Hall of Fame night. 1
eagle88
Here is my way to early assessment of the 2024-2025 team. First kudos to HCRS and his staff for what appears to be a good recruiting job. On paper the pieces seem to be there as far as shooting, size, height, athleticism and overall good quality young men. Hopefully what we see on paper translates to a good court performance this coming season. My gut feeling is that this team will work hard, have good synergy and will listen to the coaches. It seems the first part of the equation is almost solved, that being recruiting. Now for the 2nd part.....coach em up! I feel very encouraged by what I see thus far. With some of the top players leaving the Summit the door is wide open for ORU to be very competitive and hopefully win the conference tournament. 2
Old Titan
Still needing a capable back-up 1-guard who can handle the ball and defend (doesn't have to be a great perimeter shooter). The roster at this point is sorely lacking a "waterbug" type, which is ironic considering a few years ago they represented half the roster.
eagle88
With the quality of players that have been recruited I sense some serious competition for playing time. This will be good and and should keep players hungry. It should also keep our starters fresh and not require McBride to play 40 minutes a game. . In terms of overall depth this may be one of the best recruiting classes in a while.
Keenan Henderson
ORU has their general in McBride but as far as who fills the next 7-8 spots in the rotation, who knows which players will step up next year. The 2-8 spots are up for grabs among the new and old players. It should be some good competition and opportunity for all the guys, even the walk on Martin has a chance to be a bench guy next year.
