Old Titan
The inaugural NET rankings for the 2023-24 season are out today, and the No. 1 team in the Summit League is a familiar one: ORU (159) South Dakota State (164) St. Thomas (175) Denver (176) North Dakota State (195) North Dakota (230) South Dakota (236) Omaha (254) Kansas City (314) ORU D1 Opponents: Texas A&M (15) Texas Tech (87) Missouri State (97) Kansas State (100) Weber State (139) Tulsa (178) Texas-Arlington (179) Oklahoma State (196) Montana State (225) Texas Southern (286) How sad is it that BOTH Tulsa and Oklahoma State rank as merely Quad 4 opponents? https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-men/d1/ncaa-mens-basketball-net-rankings 3 1
Dr. Cornelius
If Boynton wasn’t on the hot seat before OSU’s slow start has probably put him there. A loss to Southern Illinois, Tulsa, or ORU over the next few weeks could tip the scale.
EagleManiac
Yea, Boynton is in big trouble. He's so likable I'm almost hoping against a win in Stillwater next weekend. ALMOST.
Keenan Henderson
Boynton has had some close losses and injuries this year or the Cowboys could be 6-1. He is in a tough position because the Big 12 is so good in basketball and now is getting even harder because Arizona, Houston, and other good teams are joining the league. The Big 12 in basketball is becoming like the SEC in football. If you are a middle of the road team such as OK State then life is tough in the Big 12. He is a good recuriter but most of their talent has never developed over the years, except for #1 draft pick Cade Cunningham. Whoever coaches OK State will have their hands full to develop a successful program (win 20 plus and go to the Big Dance on a consistent basis). Just a challenging situation. The Cowboys had an obvious goaltending call reversed in their favor, a technical foul on a blocked Bryce Thompson 3 attempt , and additional time added AFTER the game had ended! But OSU still managed to lose.

When a man is down ya kick em, if they don’t get up kick em harder!
