TrueBlue82
Just to add more ammunition to the "Summit League is down this year" theory... Through 11/29, the Summit League is 17-31 (.354) against D-1 opponents. Last season, the Summit was a combined 41-62 (.398) against D-1 competition. But it gets worse... Of the 17 wins this year, only ONE was against a team with a KenPom ranking better than 200, which was St. Thomas' win over 160 Portland State. The next three "best wins" have been SDSU at Southern Miss (207), NDSU at Montana (210) and ORU's home victory over Texas Southern (241). The average opponent ranking of the 17 wins is a dismal 279. Last year 13 of the 41 wins were against teams with rankings better than 200, and five of the wins were against Top 100 teams - SDSU over Boise State (29), ORU vs. Liberty (44), USD's win at BYU (85), and UMKC's neutral court victories over Toledo (82) and Indiana State (93). Certainly, there are still a lot of non-conference matchups coming on the schedule for a chance at a "signature" win for the Summit (ORU came very close at K-State). But for now, it hasn't happened yet...
