Hadn't seen this posted anywhere yet.

NCAA is taking away the NIT bids from mid-major regular season champions and handing them to the 2 highest-ranked major conference leftovers that don't qualify for the Big Dance. Can't even make up something like that:

No NIT Automatic Bids for Regular Season Champions

NIT said in response that they had to do this because FOX is coming up with their own end of the season tournament with teams from the Big East, Big Ten, and Big 12.  They said that before the NIT had no competition but now the competition has heated up.  So if you are a Power 5 school then you have a chance of going to The Big Dance, NIT or the FOX tournament.  In other words, the worst Power 5 school that won around 8-10 games all year will be in a postseason tournament. While a Mid Major that wins 20 plus and its regular season title could still be left out in the cold.

College sports is basically becoming pro sports jr.  What can you do?  Jeff Goodman says boycott the NIT 😉

I will boycott the NIT (unless ORU gets an invite, of course! 😀).
