I would add that, in spite of the seeming advantage to the Dakotas and particularly the South Dakotas, the top seed from the regular season has won the tournament in the vast majority of cases. I don't know - maybe the big time environment with a houseful of screaming fans benefits a team whether they're cheering for you or against you. Last night sure didn't seem to hurt NDSU much. You're right, the "chalk" usually rises to the top in these tournaments. And NDSU did play well last night but I also don't think SDSU was very good this year. Not to sound too confident, but I expect an ORU victory.

With everyone on here throwing "chalk" around lately, I had to look up the term so I could catch the wave. Now I can say with complete confidence, yeah, the chalk rises to the top!!! titansforever
Just throwing this out there. On the women's side, a Summit team has made it past the first round of the NCAA Tournament four times since 2009. 2

theeagleman5
That actually would be a brilliant move by both sides.....and I think it would be a genius decision by Coach Mills and ORU if he was offered the opportunity and accepted.....so that said it will probably never happen.....Paul Mills and Sioux Falls.... Perfect Together!!!
Old Titan
Coach Mills still making waves - and headlines - in South Dakota! (I mean, let's face it: other than crop and calving predictions, what else do they have to report this time of year?)

ron
Dear ORU Community, please be kind to those of us whose survival depends on the quality of our winter parkas and the availability of heating fuel. I feel like I'm dodging a bit of friendly fire here.

But yeah, it was really cold.

I mean, these spots would write themselves: (INTRO) Paul Mills standing in snowy parking lot, wearing ridiculously puffy parka and hunter's hat with those goofy plaid ear flaps (COPY) "Hi, this is Coach Paul Mills of the Summit League champion ORU Golden Eagles. You know, whenever I just HAVE to come to Sioux Falls on business in the freezing cold of winter, I know I can always count on getting around town in the snow and ice in a trusty auto from Olaf's Used Cars and Rentals at County Line Road and Jorgenson Blvd. Every vehicle is equpped with 4-wheel drive and studded snow tires, plus they offer free towing within a 25-mile radius whenever you run across one of those pesky snow drifts!" -OR- (INTRO) Paul Mills seated at diner counter, wearing ridiculously puffy turtleneck sweater and super-tall knitted cap with fuzzy ball topper (COPY) "Hi, this is Coach Paul Mills of the Summit League champion ORU Golden Eagles. You know, when I'm annually dealing with the bone-chilling cold of March in Sioux Falls , there's nothing like warming up the ol' cockles with a piping hot bowl of lamb stew and fresh cornbread at Aunt Millie's Country Inn on Rural Route 9 near the rendering plant. Start it off with a steaming plate of chislic, then treat yourself to a slice of peach kuchen for dessert, and you've got yourself a meal that says, "Hey, I'm in South Dakota - again!" -OR- (INTRO) Overhead shot looking down at Paul Mills making a snow angel in the snow, wearing ridiculously puffy one-piece snow suit with hood and ski goggles. (COPY) "Hi, this is Coach Paul Mills of the Summit League champion ORU Golden Eagles. You know, the great thing about coming to Sioux Falls this time of year...every year...over and over and over...is the almost limitless number of outdoor activities available to you and your family. Why waste time and money hauling the brood to the beach or the mountains, when the greater Sioux Falls area provides so many fun things to do in early March, many of which rarely result in frost bite! So just remember, when making those Spring Break plans for next year: SIOUX FALLS - IT'S NOT AS COLD AS FARGO." etc., etc., etc...he could be a STAR, I'm telling ya!
ORUTerry
You win the internet. His agent should seriously be on the phone with the Sioux Falls tourist commission and business community. Think of the money he could make.
vcboy2000
I had never heard of chislic before this past weekend. The locals thought it was a well-known dish served around the country.
