titansforever
I know all of us will keep praying (without ceasing!) for Rhett to experience a full recovery. Thank God for the doctors who treated him, and for the medical staff that continues to monitor him and make sure he is doing well.
theeagleman5
So glad to hear that OT is on the mend.....and it sounds like the refs at Mabee Center may be in for a break this season since he won't be able to ride them about questionable calls until his vocal cords completely recovered.....God Bless Old Titan!!!

The last thing we heard from Diane on the 18th was: As of today, he is out of the hospital and into rehab. He will spend four weeks in rehab due to the fact that he needs to stay on intravenous antibiotics. 1
Popular Post ttowncount
Rhett’s post on Facebook Sunday morning: https://www.facebook.com/1291023594/posts/pfbid02JQ6HdmegSjYiWxFRnYQwfqX4ZWorJCN5umPSyEDDSLfYPJ6NmZv1nxxRqERGjbjRl/?mibextid=cr9u03 Hello, friends! Apologies for the delay in providing a first-person update re: my recent medical issues; I'll bet I've attempted to craft an appropriate response a dozen times this past month, only to find myself overwhelmed (and surprisingly speechless) by humility and gratitude for EVERYONE'S prayers and support, not just for me but for Diane (the REAL hero in this saga) and my family as well. Rest assured I remain eternally grateful to each of you for your words of inspiration and encouragement throughout this ordeal, particularly when the nights were long and the going got tough and a few doses of divine motivation from friends and loved ones were "just what the doctor ordered". I simply cannot thank you all enough! Now, for the latest status report: after 37 days and counting so far in two hospitals, I'm looking at September 7th as a discharge date to return home and continue intravenous antibiotic treatments around the clock for 30 days with the help of home health care. It was a nasty infection that got me in this mess in the first place, and the doctors want to make sure there is no chance it makes another appearance any time soon. Can't wait to get more than a couple of hours sleep at one time in my own bed! Like the old Chicago song, I'm "Feeling Stronger Every Day", and ready to get back to my old routine. I'll post more later; till then thanks again for being there with me along the way. (P.S. thanks for the birthday wishes as well!) 6 1
MrsSmith
It could've been worse if it was in June and he missed the CWS. So glad he is getting well. Still praying for a complete healing. Thanks for the update ttowncount.

Popular Post Old Titan
Alright, just stop it. I have a reputation as a prickly curmudgeon that I’m trying to uphold, and these well-meaning but completely misplaced platitudes in my absence are not helping. Old Titan
Words of wisdom from Room 116 of the Post Acute Medical facility in east Tulsa: 1. Spending six figures to buy a game in the Mabee Center with the likes of North Texas isn’t worth it. That money is better spent on a variety of other needs. Just go ahead and play an Ozark Christian or two (but not four). 2. With the apparent shift in scheduling philosophy by the new staff, suddenly Golden Eagle Fan is no longer concerned with coaching job security based on W-L records. 3. When given the option of “Tuna Casserole” on the facility’s dinner menu, always go with “Chef Salad” instead. Trust me on this one… 1 2

Trust me on this one… The tuna casserole will go through you faster than a rat in a snake (IF you're hungry enough to eat it)! Hopefully there is a bathroom nearby. That is all.... ORUJason
I ordered the tuna at Landry’s one time many years ago and I did not even make it out of the restaurant…
eagle88
This has been a busy summer and I really haven't gone to the message board much. I saw today that OT is doing better and that does my heart good! Keep mending my friend and know we are praying and pulling for you for a complete recovery!

Popular Post titansforever
I just saw a 9-6 post from Diane on Facebook. You all probably saw it too: Our prayers have definitely been answered! Rhett got released from the hospital and is resting at home! He still has his picc line in and he is doing the intervenous antibiotics all on his own! He sees his heart doctor tomorrow, and his infectious disease doctor in two weeks. We are expecting good reports from both of them. Rhett and I want to thank everybody, once again, for their faithful prayers! We serve an awesome God! 7
