TrueBlue82 Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 Just now, TrueBlue82 said: One thing that shows the potential of this team is that they DOMINATE weaker opponents (as in last night's 11-1 run-rule win). In quadrant 3/4 games this season, ORU is 14-3, with two of those losses occurring during the disappointing opening weekend. And, in TEN of those 14 wins, the margin of victory has been FIVE or more runs. This bodes very well for good success as the Eagles enter the heart of the Summit season. And, yes, of course I would like to see ORU have an improved record against stronger opponents (currently 2-6 against quadrant 1). There are still six games remaining against quadrant 1/2 opponents (NDSU3, OU2, MoState), and I would be very surprised if ORU doesn't win at LEAST half of those games. In all, quality teams should DOMINATE the lower-tier teams, and COMPETE well against the top tier. The Eagles have the first half of that equation down, and still have the opportunity to prove that they can fulfill the second part during the month of April. 2
