Not that anyone needed another reason to be at Wings to Go tomorrow afternoon, but 97.1 The Sports Animal will be at tomorrow's watch party at Wings to Go, broadcasting and giving away free goodies. There's no reason not to pack that place out when our boys take on Clemson at 2:00 p.m. ORU on national tv in the super regionals and great wings at 1/2 price, what else could anyone want? I continue to be amazed at how much media time ORU is getting from the baseball team's success. I would argue that, on a local basis, it rivals the coverage we got from the basketball team's success. The OKC Sports Animal continues to promote ORU - they were discussing Pat Jones' prediction that ORU would beat Clemson and make waves in the College World Series. They said it would be a great story - like George Mason making the Final Four. Chris Plank spoke with Chris Belvin this afternoon and interviewed him about the team. I missed most of it, but did hear Chris say the team took a charter flight to Spartanburg, SC and had a police escort to their hotel. They were practicing at Furman University in Greenville, SC. vcboy2000 Posted June 7, 2006 Share Posted June 7, 2006 I have to agree with you on that, Terry. The baseball teams success has rivaled the local media attention that the basketball team received. On a national level it doesn't even come close to the attention the basketball team received. A large part of that is because college basketball is more popular that college baseball.
