Old Titan
Some really good stuff in this 25-minute interview, the length of which is kind of unheard of for daytime talk radio. Best takeaway: “We only have one senior in Francis Lacis, and everyone is eligible for an additional COVID year next season.” Reading between the lines; that sounds like Elijah Lufile could qualify for a sixth year next season; which would be awesome. 1
Keenan Henderson
That is a good call OT about Lufile being eligilble for a sixth season. According to the rules if a player redshirts his first year, which Lufile did in Junior College, and then has a medical redshirt later on, then they are eligible for six seasons. Of course he has already received his degree and is most likely working on a master's, so maybe he would want to come back next season. So according to Coach Mills everyone could come back next year. That is probaly why they only signed one recurit in the upcoming class. Just never know who may transfer after the season. Hopefully no one. Old Titan
That extra COVID year is going to create some incredible logevity among low-to-mid major teams once it's all said and done. Not so much at the high-major level because they're always losing players to transfer, the NBA, etc., but don't be surprised in the next season or two to see a small school make the Final Four with a bunch of 22-year-olds who have all played together for four or five years (ala Oklahoma State football this past season).
