Memphis, Oral Roberts players get physical

Memphis power forward Joey Dorsey said he expected Oral Roberts to play physical Friday. But what he didn't expect was to hear a little trash talk from Oral Roberts forward Caleb Green. The two got tangled up numerous times with the referees telling each to knock it off.

"We were running down court, and [Green] told me he was going to call me 'J' because he wanted to take the rest of the letters from my name and from my game," said Dorsey, who fouled out in 20 minutes after scoring five points and grabbing four rebounds.

Green laughed as he confirmed what Dorsey said.

That's some trash talking.... sounds like he backed it up though.

That is extremely mild compared to what I have other schools' players say to ours on the road. It's all part of the game right?

It is absolutely part of the game. Based on the story from the Memphis paper that ORU Terry posted on the board it sounds like the talk upset the ref more than it upset the players involved. Personally, I was happy to see Caleb involved in some trash talking (w/in certain socially acceptable guidelines). He made it clear that we felt like we deserved to be there and weren't afraid of them despite their seeding and pedigree.

Caleb knows he can play with any big man in the game. I love his confidence. Remember how he owned Maryland's big men? Now he has Memphis in his pocket too. Too bad he didn't get a piece of sheldon williams.
