Did David Barton Play ORU Basketball?

I was doing some research on Oral Roberts and I came across this article where questioning David Barton, a popular Christian America historian & ORU Grad, about his claim he played basketball.

Anybody remember anything about this? Just thought it was interesting.

TheEagleman recently watched a show on TBN featuring David Barton on US presidents....we both graduated in 1976 and I had a few classes with the guy but we were not friends....its possible Barton played intramural ball but he wasn't very big and I have no recollection of him playing ORU JV and certainly not varsity because I was a sports reporter for the Oracle and was often in the locker room and at practice....David Barton did not play for ORU.....but I did enjoy his TV show ...

Maybe Mr. Barton is confusing himself with 7-0 David Vaughn who was the starting center at ORU in 1972-73.
