theeagleman5
Solo HR for SDSU in the bottom 6th.....it's now 6-0 Jacks in the top of the 7th.....
theeagleman5
SDSU 8 Omaha 0 top 8th.....OUCH!!!....
theeagleman5
Its all over....SDSU advances to the Losers bracket game tomorrow night vs. the loser tonight......final 8-0.....a very disappointing 24 hours for Omaha after blowing that game to IPFW in the 9th yesterday.....next up...IPFW vs. ORU at 6pm CDT..... theeagleman5
ORU has rallied to take a 5-4 lead on 2 run HR by Hungate.....IPFW batting in the home 7th......
theeagleman5
Not looking good....the Mastadons have taken a 6-5 lead as we head to the 9th.....ouch.....
ORUalum
starter only goes 4.1, three errors, can't execute a sac bunt in the 9th.....ORU did not deserve to win that one. IPFW seems to be a team of destiny with a long win streak and all the confidence in the world.
theeagleman5
Twelve wins in a row for IPFW....they appear to be a team of destiny....it just got a lot tougher for ORU....gotta win tomorrow night vs. SDSU then take a pair on Saturday against the hottest team in town.....could happen but ORU hasn't played well the past week......we picked a bad time to cool off..... ORUTerry
What is with all the errors this year. We seem to commit multiple errors in almost every game.
ORUalum
i'd be curious how ORU's team fielding percentage stacks up with past teams. ORU's defense seems to ask the pitchers to get 29 or 30 outs in a game too often. i can't ever remember ORU's middle infielders having so many errors. TrueBlue82
Not much difference with last year... 2016 team - fielding % of .965 / 70 errors in 54 games 2015 - .966 / 72 errors in 57 games
theeagleman5
Well...now ORU is in a real hole.....and IPFW might just be the hottest team in the country with a 12 game streak.....ORU doesn't likely have the pitching depth to win 3 straight games....and the Mastadons only have to win 1......our bats are going to have to heat up.....just have to hope the boys can dig down deep and climb the mountain...just take it one game at a time....there...somebody had to say it..... theeagleman5
It's do or die in the next 36 hours for ORU....tonight we just need to concentrate on playing solid baseball and eliminating SDSU.....but IPFW will be rested and ready on Saturday if we can get past tonight....and we won't be getting an at large bid to the tournament despite the fact that we own a victory over top ranked Mississippi State and two wins over 16th ranked Oklahoma State.....35-19 is a nice record but we are 2-3 in our past five games against mediocre Summit competition....gonna be a long summer of reflection if we lose this tournament at home..... Our pitching staff has been notably short handed, and has blown some games for us. Hopefully our bats come alive and can get us through the weekend. Otherwise, a decent season will be a complete disappointment.
Bogus Smith
We are going to be seeing teams' 3rd & 4th pitchers as well. I will put our bats against their pitching vs. their bats against our pitching at that depth any time. I can see us win three in 36 hours. EagleManiac
Headed to the sixth knotted up at 2. Gotta get some runs or we're going to be eliminated from the tournament for the first time since joining the league.
