BlueGold
Proud of our future Golden Eagles, Ashley Beatty and Rylie Torrey, whose teams both won their quarterfinal games last night in the Oklahoma Class 4A girls high school basketball state tournament. Ashley's #1-ranked Anadarko Lady Warriors rallied from 8 points down after 3 periods to beat Hilldale 50-46. Ashley had 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Rylie's #3-ranked Locust Grove Lady Pirates downed Harrah 53-39 in overtime. Rylie scored a game-high 20 points. It's the first time ever that LG has ever made it to the second game at state. It's the first time in 9 years that LG has made it to state. It's Rylie's first season playing for LG after transferring from Weatherford after her Dad got the boy's basketball coaching position there. Coincidence that they made state when Rylie showed up? Me thinks not, not to take any credit away from her teammates, but she has elevated LG all season long. http://newsok.com/article/5400755?scrolling_list=article_small On the other hand, Ashley's been spoiled, having gone to state all four years at 'Darko. She's a great player and scorer who hasn't scored as much this season as in the past, but she's done other things like rebound and pass and make her teammates better. Her unselfish play has paid huge dividends, as other players stepped up with confidence in the win last night over Hilldale. She didn't have to rally the team by herself in the 4th period, they rallied together. Both play tonight in the semifinals. Anadarko vs. Elgin, Locust Grove vs. Fort Gibson, the defending 4A state champion. It'd be great for them to both win and play each other in the championship game tomorrow night. Go Ashley and Rylie! Golden Eagle pride.
BlueGold
Ashley and her Anadarko Lady Warriors win, 49-34 over Elgin tonight in their 4A state semifinal game. They'll play for the gold ball in the championship game tomorrow at The Big House (the Fairgrounds Coliseum in OKC). She had 10 points. Waiting to see who the opponent is. Last check, Locust Grove was leading defending state champion Fort Gibson 43-40 with just over 2 minutes left.

ORUJason
I was at the Anadarko vs. Victory women's HS playoff game last week and Anadarko has a very tough team. As I recall they were running some plays/screens to get their 3 point shooters open and they distributed the ball well. I didn't even realize at the time that they had an ORU committed player. I wouldn't be concerned about her production dropping this year because that team has a lot of talent. If she is the best player on that team and the straw that stirs their drink, then they are getting a really good player.

BlueGold
Rylie with 28 points to lead Locust Grove to the 4A state championship, 51-33 over Ashley and Anadarko. Ashley had 10 points. http://newsok.com/article/5401649 In the linked article, Rylie and Ashley are referred to as ORU commitments. That's what they were, not what they are. They are ORU signees. Call me picky, I don't mind. Congratulations to both for the great seasons they had and for making it to the championship game, and to Rylie for winning the gold ball! Now they both have one... Ashley won state as a freshman in 2012 with Anadarko. Proud of both of these future Golden Eagles!
