BlueGold
Ouch is right, and we lost both games with our number 1 and 2 starters. We weren't good defensively and haven't been so far this season. Fifteen errors in 8 games- way too many. Third base has been an issue- 5 errors so far. The infield, except for Matt Brandy, who has none, has a total of 11 errors. And four errors in 8 games from the outfield, yikes. We gave up 6 unearned runs (4 in the first game, 2 in the second) in the doubleheader. The schedule is getting tougher and if we continue to commit errors and give up unearned runs we'll end up paying for it, with losses. Hoping the guys will rebound today and avoid the sweep. Go Eagles.
TrueBlue82
Eagles find a way to right the ship, blasting 11 hits and coaxing 8 walks from LaTech pitching enroute to a resounding 11-2 win. CF Derrian James, batting .222 entering the game, went 3 for 5 with 6 RBIs - and the defense went errorless on a rainy day in Ruston. The schedule doesn't get any easier this week for the 6-3 Eagles, with a Tuesday night roadie to Missouri State and a home weekend series with perennial powerhouse Dallas Baptist. theeagleman5
It's good to get out of Ruston with at least one win....and a big one at that....6-3 is a good start....but as mentioned above we have four tough games this week.....always love playing Dallas Baptist.....
