ORU at Western Illinois

Ho hum, another road win...

A really good one over a team above us in the Summit standings.  We're still in 5th but only a half game out of 3rd with 2 to play.  Both Western and IUPUI are 8-5 in the league and we have a chance to move ahead of both if we can beat the Jags at their place on Saturday afternoon and Denver beats Western later that day.

Jordan Gilbert with a phenomenal game- a career-high 24 points in 26 minutes off the bench.  She came in shooting 37% on the season but went 9-11, and also made all 6 of her free throws, including 4 clutch ones in the final 2 minutes to help seal the deal.  Oh, and add in 3 steals.  Who's a freshman?

Vicky with another double-double, her 21st of the season- 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Dorka Balla and Atoe' Jackson with 11 points each.

A key to the win was our defense.  We held them to 35% shooting and we won the rebounding battle.

FYI, the game on Saturday at IUPUI is scheduled to be shown on ESPN3 at 2pm Eastern.

Rough day for my man JJONES.

Oh well, at least HIS team (Utah State) got a win last night, taking them to 7-18 on the season. Congrats?

C'mon, Voice - don't poke the troll.

Just let him fester under his bridge while these young ladies grow up before our very eyes...

Just took an in-depth look at the league standings and remaining schedules, and if ORU wins tomorrow, they are a virtual lock for 3rd place finish in the league this year!

This is assuming they also take care of IPFW at home, next Saturday. And with that game being at home, against an IPFW team that isn't very good, you'd have to think we'd be heavy favorites to win that one.

And, with the youngsters on this team coming back, along with the recruits and transfer (from Arkansas), you'd have to think ORU will be one of the favorites to win the league, next year!
