TrueBlue82
Nice 3-1 win for the Eagles in the season opener. Memphis' 1-2 batters led off the game with a triple and RBI double to take a 1-0 lead, then the Tigers managed two hits (and no runs) the rest of the way. Trujillo with a strong seven innings, but the Eagles didn't tie the game until after his departure - and won it with two runs in the eighth to earn Nathan Garza the win. ORU opens the season with a win for the first time since 2011. Weather forecasts have moved Sunday's game a day early to create a doubleheader tomorrow. Let's play two! ORUalum
ORU takes game 2 and the series 6-3 W: Giller SV: Stout HR: Cummings a little bit of a concern that James has been in the lineup for both games. it's understandable to play Wilson for his glove at SS despite not having a bat. but there is no reason to play a corner outfielder who can't hit. add to that, James commits an error on a routine fly ball late in the game to give Memphis some hope. if he's their best option, that is not a good sign for the team going forward in the season. theeagleman5
2 of 3 in the first series against Memphis isn't that bad.....great pitching from Trujillo and Giller in the first two games in encouraging.....maybe ORU can do some damage in the Summit this season....unlike our basketball team.....
