WBB 62, East Central 46 (Exhib.)

The ladies win 62-46 over East Central at the Mabee Center in their second and final exhibition game.

Redshirt senior center Vicky McIntyre towered over the Tigers and had a monster game- 18 points, 24 rebounds, 3 blocks in 30 minutes.  Eleven of her rebounds were offensive.  It was an exhibition game but she's scary because she's tall but also moves pretty well around the basket for her size, and on defense she changes the game because she not only can block just about any shot that comes close but alters shots and makes opposing players think more about coming inside.  I'm excited to see what she's going to do this season.

It wasn't a pretty win but it was still a win.  We shot just under 37% and missed 10 free throws and fouled too much.

We did take better care of the ball though, committing 12 turnovers, nine less than we had against Rockhurst last Saturday, and we shot 50% from three (5-10).  Against Rockhurst we were just 1-7.

No one else reached double figures, but eight other players scored.  Senior Detti Balla and freshman Jordan Gilbert each had nine points.

It starts for real this coming Friday (Nov. 14th) when we open the regular season at Baylor.  The Lady Bears are ranked eighth in the AP preseason poll.  The game is scheduled to be shown on Fox Sports Southwest Plus.

Nice win Eagles!!

Good luck against Baylor, ladies!!
