BlueGold
The guys take down Western Illinois 2-0 on the road on Saturday afternoon, handing the Leathernecks their first loss in Summit League play. ORU got on the board on an own goal from Tarik Salkicic in the 35th minute when his cross was deflected and went in off the Western goalkeeper, and added to the lead on a goal from Edgardo Mira in the 43rd minute which was assisted by Zari Prescod. Ben LaCourse picked up his third shutout of the season in goal. The guys are 6-7-2 overall and 2-2-1 in Summit games. They're in a four-way tie for third place in the conference with one more conference game left, next Saturday (Nov. 8th) at home against Eastern Illinois, which is an affiliate member of the Summit in men's soccer. ORU needs to finish in the top four in the Summit to qualify for the postseason tournament. Nice win, Eagles!!
theeagleman5
So it sounds like ORU will most likely clinch a Summit League playoff berth with a win next Saturday vs. EIU.....hopefully a large crowd will turn out to cheer the lads on to victory since a tie probably won't get it done....GO BLUE!....
