BlueGold
Sweep! ORU with a nice 3-0 bounce back win earlier today over Horizon League preseason favorite Milwaukee at the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational at Missouri State. Senior Sara Pope had her best match of the season so far with a team-leading 15 kills while hitting .394 with only two attack errors. Freshman Laura Milos continued her strong play with 14 kills, 12 digs, two service aces and three total blocks. Freshman Megan Doran (Tulsa's Victory Christian School) played in her first collegiate match, starting in the middle, and was a force defensively with five total blocks (one solo and four block assists, including one on the match-winning point when she teamed with junior Sadie Schaffner to stuff preseason Horizon Offensive Player of the Year and reigning conference Player of the Week Julie Kolinske). Doran also chipped in with two kills, both in the deciding third set. The ladies play two matches back-to-back on Saturday to close out the tournament. Western Kentucky, picked to finish second in Conference USA, starts the day off at 2:30pm, followed by former Southland Conference member Incarnate Word at 5pm. Go Eagles!!
