Agreed.  He signed a three-year deal for $15 million with $11.5 million guaranteed.  His hard work and grinding is providing a secure future for him and his family.

Jose had a 2 run single on Wednesday night vs. the Phillies.....Trevino hitting .258 for the season with a .701 OPS....4 HRs and 17 RBI....

He has struggled in his last 30 games, hitting well below .200 (not sure where that is with his 2-4 night on Wednesday).  The only thing holding Jose back is his hitting and arm speed.  Hope he keeps grinding it out though. 

He still has two more years on his 3-year, $15 million contract with the Reds.  Not sure how much, if any, of that is guaranteed on the contract, but it is nice to know that you have something in place and that you're going to be in the same city (until you're traded) for a while.

The Milwaukee Brewers come into the Great American Ballpark today with a 14-game winning streak.  Jose comes to the plate in the 7th and hits a sac fly to score the first run of the game, 1-0.  In the bottom of the 9th, after Milwaukee hits a 2-run home run to go ahead 2-1, Jose singles to right-center scoring Will Benton and tying the score 2-2 to go into the 10th.

With the zombie runner at second, Milwaukee's first batter attempts a bunt in front of the plate to advance the runner, but Jose jumps out from behind the plate to barehand the ball and fire it to third in time to get the runner and thwart the chance of a runner in scoring position.  The Brewers do not score in the top of the 10th. Grant Anderson comes in a provides IBBs to two batters to load the bases and Austin Hays hits a walk-off single to win the game and save a sweep by the Brewers.

With all the ups-and-downs of a journeyman's career, Jose shows up for work every day.

According to sporttrac, Jose signed a 2 year $11.5 million contract extension that covers 26-27.  100% of that is guaranteed.  Really happy for him.
