theeagleman5
So the entire season has come down to this series at JLJ vs. Lamar......The Cardinals have not been playing very well over the past few weeks but will surely be up for this....it's do or die for both teams.....3 way tie for the final two playoff spots in the Southland Tournament....probably the loser of this series will be out.....So if ORU can win 2 of 3....we are in.....if not....well, it's one of the shortest seasons in ORU history.....tonights' opener is obviously huge.....Good Guys need to get this first game....is TheEagleman nervous???..... ......GO BLUE!!!..... theeagleman5
Pepe Gomez (8-3) on the hill for ORU tonight...let's pray that the kid is ready for a big effort.....Lamar is sure to have their ace going so expect a low scoring game...runs should be at a premium.....hope we have a nice crowd at JLJ tonight....anybody going to the game?..... MrsSmith
We aren't able to go tonight, but we should be there the next two games.

MrsSmith
I love baseball. I'm going to go into baseball withdrawal after this weekend. we can't go to Arkansas next week. Maybe the Regionals!!
ORUalum
ORU yakking this one up in the seventh...trouble with the glove in the top of the inning, then Domenico can't execute a sac bunt and wasted a great scoring opportunity in the bottom of the frame. headed to the 8th knotted up at 3. ORUalum
Domenico redeems himself in the 8th with the go-ahead RBI double...ORU up 5-4 going to th 9th. high drama at JLJ.
ORUalum
Lamar scores from 2nd on an infield hit....5-5 headed to the bottom of the 9th
ORUalum
ORU loads them up with no outs and fails to score....free baseball
ORUTerry
Bases loaded with no outs - you have to score there. At least put the ball into play. Instead we get get two strikeouts and then a ground out.
ORUalum
ORU wastes a lead off error from Lamar...once again Domenico can not execute a sac bunt....on to the 11th.
ORUalum
Lamar strands a couple, but Romano guts out another inning...have to think he is done if a 12th inning is necessary
theeagleman5
Not scoring in the 9th will likely come back to haunt ORU......as said above....that can't happen.....the situation must be intense at JLJ....it's still tied at 5 heading to the home 12th.....Romano has now gone 3 1/3.....he might be done for the weekend.....both teams blowing thru their bullpens...... but we have the top of the order coming up.....it's time to end this..... ORUalum
UGLY game...HBP walk-off (fitting end)...ORU wins 6-5!!! W: Romano GREAT effort from Romano, but he may be done for the weekend as eagleman pointed out.
theeagleman5
ORU WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....6-5 without a hit in the 12th....Brandy gets hit by a pitch and we are one game from clinching a playoff spot!!!.....
theeagleman5
This was managed like a do or die game and let's face it......the importance of getting the win in game one of the series is huge....all the pressure is on Lamar tomorrow.....both bullpens have been wasted so we need a big start tomorrow from Gomez or Trujillo.....Glanz got the start tonight and pitched well.....but we need a good 8 or maybe a complete game tomorrow.....what a night!.....now is a short rest and we do it all over again tomorrow afternoon.....GO BLUE!!.... ORUJason
Way to go! In a game with this much on the line, it is impressive to go 3 innings (in extra innings) without giving up a run, and that's what it took to win tonight. Romano definitely earned this win. theeagleman5
Anybody know why Glanz started instead of Gomez tonight?.....so who starts tomorrow?....Trujillo or Gomez?......
