ORUalum
according to verbalcommits.com ORU has offered Koontz. (Enid, OK) More: Head due north about an hour from Oklahoma City, OK and you’re in for a surprise…a big surprise. It’s up there that you’ll come across a 6’9″ face up four man named Colby Koontz (Enid,OK/Pioneer-Pleasant Vale). If all you do is look at rankings and read lists, you’re missing out. I believe this in general, but it definitely applies to this youngster. Koontz did not play on the circuit this past spring and summer. He suffered an elbow injury, something that’s plagued him off and on for a couple of years. His high school Coach Brandon Gallagher has been quoted as saying, “Koontz makes the other players around him better.†That’s a trait that money can’t buy in my opinion. A quick visit to his twitter page @Colby_koontz reveals a very grounded, humble young Christian man. No trash talking here! Koontz is also an outstanding baseball prospect as both a hitter and a pitcher. It appears that Colby comes by his talent honestly as his folks were both standouts for the Oklahoma Sooners; Pops in football and Moms in basketball).
