theeagleman5
TheEagleman just watching a replay of yesterday's 2nd round....Bill looking mighty good and still in fantastic shape for 50+ yrs old.....
ORUTerry
Thru 9 holes, Glasson is 2 under and has a four stroke lead. (null)
theeagleman5
ORU's Glasson 2 under today and still holding a 4 stroke lead over charging Willie Wood of OSU as they head to the final 9 holes....right now it's an all Oklahoma battle in Hawaii.... theeagleman5
Billy responds to a bogey on 11 by curling in a 40+ ft birdie on 12!!!....his lead is back to four strokes over Wood.....
ORUTerry
Glasson bogeys the 13th hole after hitting the bunker and hitting the lip of the bunker; Woods birdies 14 to pull within two. Then Glasson birdies 14 to extend the lead back to three.
ORUTerry
And Glasson hits another bunker on 15. Not a good lie.
theeagleman5
Glasson has bogyed 3 of the last 5 holes...his lead over Wood has shrunk to 2 stokes.....Bill was fortunate that Wood just missed a 15 footer that could have sliced the lead to a single stroke...
theeagleman5
Still another bogey on 16....Glasson is falling apart on the back nine...his lead is down to one with 2 holes to play.....he needs a birdie on the par 5 17th the right the ship..... theeagleman5
Wood birdies 17....the lead is now gone.....tied with Glasson at -13.....Bill needs to get this birdie on 17.......
theeagleman5
Glasson drains a 10 footer for birdie to regain the lead!!!....one hole to play....Wood, playing in the group ahead of Glasson, has about 18 feet to even things up at 14 under..... theeagleman5
Wood makes the putt to tie Glasson at -14.....Bill now has to par 18 to force a playoff or birdie to win outright.....
theeagleman5
Not good....after a huge drive Glasson yanks a sand wedge to the left of the green.....he's got a tough up and down just to force a playoff.....it's looking like a huge collapse for Glasson and a big comeback for OSU's Willie Wood..... theeagleman5
Such a shame....Glasson misses a 10 footer for par and finishes 2nd by one stroke to winner Willie Wood......... ....gotta feel bad for Bill.....he had a 5 shot lead early in the final round and lead by four strokes with just six holes to play....but he bogeyed 5 of the last 8 holes.....however, Bill will earn enough points to qualify for the Schwab Cup next month which is the Champions equivilant of the Tour Championship..... ORUTerry
Tough loss for Glasson. He was in the driver's seat but that back nine did him in. Gotta hand it to Woods too. He took advantage of the miscues and made his shots. (null)
theeagleman5
Woods?.....no, that wasn't Tiger out there today.....but no disgrace for Bill Glasson to lose out to Willie Wood....he's only been the hottest player on the Champions Tour since early August.....that's his 2nd win of the summer....hopefully Glasson can shake this off and come back strong in a couple of weeks.....he will still earn a six figure check for this weekends' 2nd place finish.... theeagleman5
Glasson has earned $810,000 this year and ranks 16th on the Champions Tour money list.....not a bad year....with a four tournaments left....Bill still has a chance to crack $1million with a victory or a couple of Top 10 finishes..... theeagleman5
Glasson shot a 2 under 70 in the first round at the SAS Championship in Cary, NC today..... Bill is in the Top 20 and he is four strokes behind leader Russ Cochran.....
