tmh8286
While we've been focused on the NIT and our own postseason matchups, we've missed out mentioning that WIU and NDSU are both seeing post-season play in the CBI Tournament. The teams in it are interesting - besides the Summit League reps the field includes Pitt, that gave ORU fits in the NCAA Tournament a few years back, and Butler, NCAA Cinderella for two years running. Here's an article about the field: 2012 CBI Bracket: Pitt To Take Shot In College Basketball Invitational, Will Play First Game Against Wofford Meanwhile, the Grizz are hosting in the CIT: Golden Grizzlies Host Bowling Green in CIT Postseason Tournament It's good to see some of our conference brethren getting to play in the post-season - five teams from the Summit League in all.
Old Titan
The CIT expanded to a whopping 32 teams this year - and remember, in that tournament, they're ALL mid-major teams. Bottom line: if you are at least a decent mid-major, you should be playing in the post-season from now on (if these tournaments can afford to continue).
